Video friday this week is a reflection of the summer sailing season. This video was taken on one of the most popular Portland Yacht Club Thursday nights when there were roughly 60+ boats in attendence.
Ok, I bet you didn’t know that Regatta Promotions has its own video production crew. Well, we don’t really. Hall Web Marketing of Scarborough, Maine has generously donated their time and expertise to Fleet 43 and the Downeast Regatta to make this quick intro to the fleet. They will also be taking video during the 2008 Downeast Regatta for the sailors to enjoy each evening after racing.
This is Regatta Management and Marketing done at its best for both amateur and pro sailors alike. Now if we could just do this in the U.S. it would be great!
Here is some great video from the 2007 Moth World Championships. Can you say “pitch pole”, well a couple of the guys sailing these hydrofoil moths can!
Here again for video Friday is some fast sailing during the US National skiff Championships. Not only are these cool boats but they use sponsorship and advertising in a smart way. The class and regatta both have wonderful sponsorship support from Ronstan. Have fun watching this cool video and hold on tight to your chair.
This video is awesome! Good music and fast boats – what else do you need? O.k. these folks like winter more than most of us and they probably don’t want the ice to thaw, but it sure does look like a lot of fun. Too bad spring is right around the corner, most of us will have to wait until next winter to have this much fun again!
This video is so fast that the load time is a bit slow, therefore you may want to pause it and come back in a minute or two to watch it in entirety. It’s definitely worth watching to the end to see some near wipe outs and port/starboard near misses.
Over 110 boats the Kings Cup in Asia is a well organized and promoted event. Oh yeah invite the King and name the event after him doesn’t hurt either. How many times were you interviewed for a tv spot as a race officer? Not many?
Did I see a few Kiwi 35s sailing? What winged wonders!
