89 Etchells on a single starting line??? WOW I can't imagine how wild that must be. I read in another Blog that this year's JAG series has one of the highest level of saiing competition in any class worldwide this winter. They reported over 70% of the boats had professional sailors either driving or as crew, and the entry list looked like a "Who's Who in Yacht racing, with many ex-America's Cup and Olympic sailors competing. Looks like a lot of pros are preparing for the World Championships.

Who is racing down there from our local fleet. Bet they are having a blast. Can't wait to hear how the Midwinters go. Probably have a 100 boat start for that regatta. Everyone keep praying for spring to finally get here.

Definitely a lesson learned. The same thing happened to us this past October in Annapolis at East Coast Champs. With heavy breeze and about 5o boats on the line, the RC missed our finish. Luckily there was some banter while finishing so boats near us remembered us finishing with them. Turns out that one of the boats that we finished with was recorded as finishing earlier. (Which they didn't)

I guess it sometimes pays to make some noise at the finish.
