In 1870, the Eastern Yacht Club was formed when twelve men created an organization dedicated to the promotion of yachting. Over the years, the Eastern has established itself as one of the most distinguished yacht clubs in America. Overlooking Marblehead's breathtaking harbor, the Eastern Yacht Club offers its members and guests a wealth of opportunities to enjoy summer on sea and on land.

The Eastern Clubhouse, home to three dining rooms, a clubroom, a living room, a porch that overlooks the harbor, and several guest rooms, is located at 47 Foster Street on Marblehead Neck. The surrounding property includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool, six tennis courts, two paddle tennis courts, and the Eastern pier, pier house, gangway and dock.
