Rising Tide

Rising Tide opened its doors in October of 2010 as a nano-brewery hand crafting ales in 40 gallon batches. We are now putting the finishing touches on a new 15 barrel brewhouse which we expect to be online by late June. Our capacity may be increasing, but our focus remains on hand crafted artisanal tradition.

We are currently pleased to be shipping ATLANTIS—our hoppy black ale with a whisper of smoke, DAYMARK—our pale ale with local rye, ISHMAEL—our rich copper ale and URSA MINOR—our unique wheat stout, to bars, restaurants, and beverage retailers throughout southern Maine. We hope you'll take a few minutes to peruse our site to learn about our beers and our company. Then if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Yale CordageYale Cordage was founded in 1950 by O. Sherman Yale. He introduced new synthetic materials in concert with high quality braiding techniques to manufacture rope and related products to better meet the needs of specific applications. The individuals of Yale remain focused on that same objective today while providing engineering and application support to a variety of Industries. Many of our Products are more than twice the strength of steel cable of the same diameter, but 8 times lighter.

Points EastPoints East fits in with the charts in the boater's duffel as well as on the coffee table at home. Best of all, it's free, available from March through December at the places boater's frequent: boatyards, chandleries, bookstores, coastal restaurants - as far south as Connecticut. At least 20,000 copies will be distributed monthly. For advertisers, that means wide exposure at a price that beats all the alternatives.

Rock City Coffee

Rock City Café began its life in 1992 as Second Read Books & Coffee, featuring used and new books and a busy coffeehouse, As the first coffeehouse/bookstore in Maine, Second Read quickly became an anchor of the downtown cultural scene. In 1999, we began roasting our own coffee under the brand of Rock City Coffee. By 2005, we had changed Second Read's name to Rock City Books & Coffee.

In the spring of 2011, we decided it was time to make another transformation. After selling the book portion of the business to employee Lacy Simons, who subsequently opened Hello Hello Books, we opened the new Rock City Café in a building next door to our former location. The Café is still a bustling gathering place for conversation, meetings, lunch, art and music, but we are now open during the evening, featuring a menu of delicious small plates, beer & wine, and music three nights a week.
